I have a treasure in my house. No, it’s not gold or silver – it’s authentic paper dolls. You probably know all about dress up games online, but have you ever been able to sit down with the dolls that are actually made from paper with little paper outfits you can change? It’s possible you have, especially if you have older sisters or a mother who kept her paper dolls, but the real paper dolls are a lost art and are getting scarce.

In my collection, I have over thirty different books of dolls and their outfits. Many of the books are still intact meaning I never went through to cut out the dolls and their clothing. Instead, I somehow suspected that the dolls would be more than a toy someday and left them in mint condition.

Am I planning to sell the collection? Certainly not! I don’t collect many things, but this is a collection I’m rather proud of. I’ve learned a lot about fashion and the style of the day from the books and cut-outs and I like to think that others can learn just as much by looking through my collection someday.

Christmas morning might be casual, but the rest of the holiday season seems to be filled with opportunities to dress up. You need comfortable yet attractive looks for church services, concerts, family dinners and the obligatory visits from relatives. Looking your best is always fun, but dress up games can give you help when you need it the most.

Grab Some Black Pants
Black pants are the easiest way to dress up for the holidays. Black pants pair up with anything, and if you choose a pair that can be washed in the washing machine, you can wear them and wash them over and over again. Black pants are such a staple, they simply fade into the background and nobody will notice if you wear them constantly.

With your black pants on bottom, you’ll need some bright tops. Pick festive items, but be sure they are easy to wash and wear. Go with trendy tops that suit your casual black pants. With so many chances to dress up, you can switch out the tops at will and always look great.

Those awesome black pants will need some black boots. If you can stomach it, go with the pointy-toe boots as they are the most fashionable and dressed up of your footwear choices.

Christmas is the best time for dress up games – especially if you have a sister or a close friend who likes to play along.

Christmas morning is a time of fun and excitement. No other morning brings with it so much fun and frivolity while dress in your pajamas. You’ll also be the subject of many pictures, so be sure to look your best. Pull your hair back into a messy bun and don your oversized Christmas pajamas. The kind with a button down top and drawstring bottom are always the cutest in my book. If possible, get a pair for you and for your family members. The more people in matching Christmas ‘jammies, the more fun the morning is!

You had a special Christmas dress that likely came with tights and shiny new shoes, and this was your special moment. Don’t let that excitement pass you by now. Go out and find a great new Christmas dress to wear and if you want some, grab tights, too. You might not be in red velvet with ruffles and bows, but then again….you might be.

In the winter, to get dressed, you have to wear many more layers and accessories than you do in the summer months. This means that you have a lot more stuff to pull together. Coordinating scarves, hats, bags, jewelry, layering pieces and funky shoes and bottoms challenges the mind and the creative genius.

It’s no secret that girls love boots. Slouch boots, fleece boots, slipper boots, boots with shorts, boots with skirts, boots with skinny jeans – we love them all. To be hot in the summer time, you must bare a bit of skin, throw on a cute pair of shorts and head out to the beach. And just how does a superstar dress? That depends. There are some superstars who wear designer suits every day along with fabulous accessories. There are others who wear urban trendy gear, mostly athletic along with brand name athletic shoes. Still others opt for high fashion with boots, skirts, dresses and trousers in the hottest styles.

For you to dress like a super star, you need to find the look that you love best. You might look great in a suit, but that’s not the best way to dress every day for high school. You might love the way a track suit feels, but you can’t wear it to the office. Find the balance between what’s appropriate and what makes you feel great. There might very well come a time in your young life that you don’t really like dress up games anymore. When this happens, you can rest assured that your situation isn’t unusual. It’s simply the reaction to overload in other parts of your life.

Okay, I haven’t officially be keeping count, but if I were to guess, I figure I’ve listed at least twenty-two different reasons to love dress up games. So in the spirit of approximation, I’m now going to give you the twenty-third reason you should absolutely adore dress up games.

Dress Up Games Make You a Better Dresser

If you stop to look at the actual clothing that makes up the collections on dress up games, they are the same styles of clothing you’d find in your closet or local stores. So when you play dress up games, you can see how clothing should go together as well as the funky and outrageoud outfits you can make by pairing up different things and adding few accessories.

In real life, there is a direct translation from what you did on the computer to what you can do in real life. If, online, you were terrific at pulling together outfits and finding just the right accessory, you can do it in your personal life as well. Simply shop for the same basics used in the online games and then play dress up games, only this time use your own clothes and a bedroom mirror to get a full view.

Dress up games need no defense, and they certainly aren’t hurting for praise or fans. But there is a good reason millions of people love to go online and play dress up games – in fact, one group might enjoy the dress up games for a very different reason than another group. Dress up games aren’t just for girls these days. There are plenty of guy dress up games out there ranging from celebrities such as Zac Efron to more generic creations such as “hot guys dress up games.” These guy games aren’t just for the boys, however, it can be just as much fun to dress up a boy as it is a girl.

Why?

Because you have complete control over his wardrobe. You can dress up an imaginary character to use as the heartthrob in one of your stories or even just to pretend you know him in school. Maybe he’s getting dressed for a date with you! If you are beyond playing with your imagination, you can still create dressed up guys online to help with you real boyfriend.
